Mechty o novoi Rossii. V. Chernov 1973-1952 [Dreams of the New Russia]
V.M. Chernov (1873?1952) ? one of the founders and one of the leaders of the Russian Socialist Revolutionary Party from around 1900 to the early 1920s. He was the main theoretician of the party and strong supporter of its terror policies before 1911. He was also the main innovator and advocate of the the SR land law proposal, first introduced to the Second Duma in 1907, and then to the Constituent Assembly in January 1918. During the 1917 Revolution, Chernov was minister of agriculture in the Provisional Government, and chair of the Constituent Assembly when the PSR was the most popular party in Russia and had the majority of the deputies in the Assembly. During the Russian Civil War, Chernov led two and half years of perilous underground life playig hide-and- seek with the Bolshevik authorities. He emigrated in 1920, first in Chehozlovakia where he stayed untill 1938, and then in the USA.
