Teatr mizh Hitlerom i Stalinym [Theater Between Hitler and Stalin]

The book of Valery Mykhailovych Haydabury, Doctor of Art History, Honored Worker of the Arts of Ukraine, opens a unique historical chapter of the national theater art, which has been kept silent for half a century. On the basis of rich archival, documentary, iconographic material, testimonies of participants in the theater process of that time, the author restores the picture of the work of artists who, finding themselves in dangerous and humiliating conditions of Hitler's occupation, were able to raise theatrical activity to the level of a powerful factor of patriotism, nation-building, and spiritual protection of the people.
