Istoriia muzyki Chaikovskogo v Amerike. Khronika [History of Tchaikovsky's Music in America]
This book describes more than 135-year history of Tchaikovsky's music in the America. The path of Tchaikovsky's music in America was full of internal conflicts and contradictions, for it developed against the backdrop of important historical tendencies at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, aesthetic and philosophical trends in the musical art, which changed dramatically and sharply. Romanticism was superseded by modernism. The music of Tchaikovsky was at the center of the intellectual struggle between the supporters of snobbish elitism and the indomitable desire for "novelty, whatever it is", of young composers, keen on modernism and the overwhelming majority of people for whom music always carried a natural desire for beauty and humanism that they found in abundance in the music of Tchaikovsky.
