‘Voroshilovgrad’ is a tough, melancholic, and realistic novel. How realistic can socialist realism be? One day you find out that your brother has disappeared in an unknown direction, your friends are engaged in financial scams, and representatives of incomprehensible structures are trying to outbid the business. Reality turns out to be unsteady and disappearing, life takes a step aside, and you suddenly find yourself between your past, where friends are waiting for you, and the future, where enemies are waiting for you.
