Volshebnyi fonar' [Magic Lantern]
There is no poet bigger than Tsvetaeva in our century,' Joseph Brodsky said about Marina Tsvetaeva. Not caring about the boundaries of what is permissible, Tsvetaeva allowed the spontaneous beginning into poetry. A stunning temperament combined with an unusual rhythmic variety are the hallmarks of Tsvetaeva's lyrics. One 'for all' and one 'against all'. She did not belong to any poetry school, did not recognize literary influences - only human ones. And, contrary to misunderstanding, loneliness and beggarly 'stopudova' life, always remained internally free. As Bella Akhmadulina wrote about her, 'she was the leader of her fate, and the armies of mind and spirit followed this leader.' The book includes selected poems by M. I. Tsvetaeva of different years.
