When I was fourteen, I was obsessed with the two tragic great ladies of the Russian Silver Age, Akhmatova and Tsvetayeva. I read all the biographies, memorized their poems in English, and tried unsuccessfully to learn Russian just to read them in the original. These two portraits, done in 2010, are my tributes.
