She left Poland and studied at the Sorbonne in France. There she met her husband - Pierre Curie. While researching radioactivity in a duo with her husband, she conquered the world of science for the first time, which was honored by awarding them the Nobel Prize in Physics. Maria Sklodowska-Curie was the first woman in the world to receive this prestigious award. And she received it twice! The second time in the field of chemistry, in 1911, for isolating a new element - radium. And this is not the only element she discovered.
