Ostrov pogibshikh korablei [Island of Sunken Ships]

A transatlantic liner is wrecked in the ocean. The miraculously surviving passengers - Reginald Gatling, arrested for a crime he did not commit, detective Simpkins escorting him to the States and the beautiful Viviana Kingman - are carried away by the current somewhere into the stagnant waters of the terrible and mysterious Sargasso Sea, where they find themselves captives of the inhabitants of a mysterious man-made island created from the remains of ships of all times and peoples that have been carried here over many centuries.
