Since the war in Afghanistan, Belarusians have not taken a massive part in hostilities. In Donbass they turned out to be the third largest national group. Why was this possible? How did Belarus influence the conflict in eastern Ukraine - and vice versa? What is the role of the Belarusian special services and Lukashenko personally in this war?
