V bor'be za pravdu [In the Struggle for Truth]
Alexander Lvovich Parvus born Israel Lazarevich Gelfand (1867-1924), was a Marxist theoretician, revolutionary, and a controversial activist in the Social Democratic Party of Germany. In connection with this provocation and Parvus' involvement in the organization of anti-government actions during the 1905 revolution, Parvus (together with other revolutionaries such as Leon Trotsky) was arrested by the Russian police. This book was written and published in Berlin in 1918, as a response to charges brought against Parvus in political provocations for the sake of personal enrichment, to a ban on returning to Russia and to Lenin's public rebuff, that "the revolution can not be done with dirty hands."
