The book provides a historical overview of the development of the methodology of teaching RFL. Each of the nine chapters of the book is devoted to a separate period in the development of methodological thought and contains a description of the position of the Russian language in Russia and in the world, the scientific foundations of language teaching, the main components of the teaching system: goals and content, methods and techniques, teaching aids. The final chapters provide an overview of the congresses of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL).
